Part Breakdown

Constructed with 7 total pieces, canopy makes efficient use of its negative space. Both parts of the seat nest in the cutouts of the legs while the footrests nest in the negative space for the storage compartment. Only material loss during fabrication highlighted in red.

The form of this stool is reminiscent of the layers of rainforests or other dense growth, with the storage being the “canopy” and the legs being the trunks of the trees.
